Acting

—  Acting Bio  —

Sam Bianchini is a classically trained actress, whose roots date back to a deep love affair with the Theatre.

She began her professional career in the infamous storefront Chicago theatre scene at 17, while obtaining her BFA in Acting from Chicago College of Performing Arts. She helped devise and performed in many original works around the Windy City, which shaped her artistic voice and gritty, intelligent, and provocative style at a young age.

From there, she received her MFA in Acting from UCLA, studying with some of the greatest Broadway and Hollywood instructors of the 20th century.

Since then, Sam has been writing, acting, directing, and producing immersive and awe-inspiring pieces of theatre and film.

Sam created the wildly successful immersive “Romeo+Juliet” in 2013. The show combined 5 actors playing multiple roles alongside two dancers, all set to the sweeping live music of the orchestral indie rock band, The Family Crest (one of NPR’s Best Bands of 2015). The show was performed in historical and expansive venues in both Los Angeles and San Francisco to sold-out crowds.

An avid writer, Sam also penned a television series in 2013 called “Lost Angeles”, a witty, awkward, and heartfelt story of four women navigating their way through life in the City of Angels. The 30-minute pilot garnered attention and was shot in full in late 2013, which Sam coproduced the filming and post-production. Lost Angeles premiered in 2015 to much success. You can watch Lost Angeles here.

Sam was also a leading role in “The Next Big Thing”, a feature film by Lipman Productions that premiered in 2017 and won many awards in festivals around the world. The Next Big Thing is currently streaming on Amazon.

In 2017, Sam directed “Talking Blues: Two Acts by Cecilia Fairchild” at the Davidson/ Valentini Theatre at the LGBT Center of Los Angeles. An American Gothic poetic piece of theatre about a father/daughter relationship, the piece was a strong vehicle for Sam’s meticulous eye, attention to rhythm, and musicality of emotion.

Sam was seen back on the Chicago stage as the iconic Mrs. Cheveley in Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband. The role won her much attention and praise from theatre critics around the city.

She has been seen in season 7 of Chicago Fire, as well as multiple national commercials.

Currently, Sam serves as the Co-Artistic Director and co-founder of Jacaranda Collective, and directed the inaugural show My Name is Rachel Corrie, which won praise and attention from reviewers and audiences alike. Jacaranda Collective went on to remount Romeo+Juliet with The Family Crest in collaboration with the famed The Den Theatre in Chicago in 2019, and it will be coming back for a long run in 2021. Sam is a devoted student to the impeccable craft of acting, a teacher of Voice, Movement, Shakespeare and more, and is a strong presence on stage, set, and in the rehearsal/development room. Sam thrives on collaboration, heart, and the need to give art as a gift to help others touch a piece of humanity in their soul. Sam Bianchini is proudly represented by the folks of Big Mouth Talent.
